In the Heart, Which You Colored

 In the heart, which you colored;
Blue as seas, and skies above;
And the heart it softly shuddered—
Among leaves made of Love.

For the heart subject to sin,
For Red Blood which flowed within,
White the Light that shine Heaven,
Black the Night and Stars above.

In the heart, which you colored;
Blue as seas, and skies above;
And the heart it softly shuddered—
Among leaves made of Love.

It was Love that set me free,
When the will was unyielding,
And life was dead to me,

In the heart, which you colored;
Blue as seas, and skies above;
And the heart it softly shuddered—
Among leaves made of Love.

When betrayal was very tiring
In dim light which we went;
To the Roads that lead Home,
Lay the flowers  which you sent,
As the Love which came to Rome.

In the heart, which you colored;
Blue as seas, and skies above;
And the heart it softly shuddered—
Among leaves made of Love.
